Black Pomfret in scientific language is Parastromateus niger, is a native species carangid reefs of the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean, where it was found at a depth of 15-105 m (49-344 ft). Black Pomfret is the Indo-Pacific fish from the north coast of Western Australia to southern Japan and from Africa to Borneo.
